CND™ SHELLAC® EPIC Smoothing Base is an innovative 2-in-1 formula that acts as both a base coat and smoothing layer in one application. It creates a smooth and strengthening base that extends the durability of CND® SHELLAC® up to 21 days. The unique GRIP-CANVAS™ technology ensures excellent adhesion between the natural nail and the color layer, minimizing the risk of chipping, lifting, and cracking.
The creamy, rich consistency provides up to 10 times more plumping than the original SHELLAC® Base Coat and evens out unevenness in the natural nail for a beautiful and uniform result. It is ideal for creating a slight apex while providing strength, flexibility, and extra resilience—regardless of nail type. The specially designed short and firm brush adapts to the shape of the nail and allows for precise and controlled application. The formula is vegan, HEMA Monomer-free and breathable, which supports gentle Glide-Off Removal™ and makes EPIC Smoothing Base an obvious choice for even the most sensitive customers.Use as the first step in the CND SHELLAC system. Shake gently between hands, apply in an even layer and cure for 1 minute (preset button 2S) in the CND LED Lamp. Follow up with the desired CND SHELLAC color.

- Perform P.E.P. on the natural nail to ensure proper adhesion. Find a guide to the perfect P.E.P here.
- Apply a thin layer of CND™ SHELLAC™ Base Coat. Cure for 10 seconds in the CND™ LED Lamp using preset button 1.
PROTIP: Applying a thin, even base coat ensures optimal adhesion and long-lasting wear. - Apply the first layer of CND™ SHELLAC™ Color Coat. Cure for one minute using preset button 2S.
- Apply a second layer of CND™ SHELLAC™ Color Coat for full coverage. Cure for one minute using preset button 2S.
- Seal with CND™ SHELLAC™ Top Coat for a durable, high-gloss finish. Cure for one minute using preset button 3.
- Remove the top film with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol for a flawless shine.
